Secretary Health Punjab Jawad Rafiq Malik has said that provincial Health department is implementing a reforms programme to provide best treatment facilities to the people of remote areas. He stated this while distributing 700 eye glasses among patients at Lidhar Hospital, Bedian Road.
Political Assistant to CM Talha Burki was also present. Burki said that provision of free medical facilities to the poor and deserving patients is the priority of the Punjab government and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has provided billions of rupees for this purpose besides setting up health centres and hospitals in remote areas. MNA Rana Mubashar was also present on the occasion. Principal Institute of Ophthalmology and Pro-Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University informed that a free eye camp was organised from February 4 to 11, at Lidhar Hospital during which doctors of Mayo Hospital performed 20 eye operations and 1100 patients were treated.
