As many as eight people were injured on Sunday when two unidentified motorcyclists lobbed a hand grenade near Tanga Stand in Bihar Colony, Lyari, an area which is believed to be the hub of gang war criminals. Following the incident, the police and rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted injured people to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment. The law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started search operation.
The victims were later identified as Asad, 20, son of Muhammad Rafique, Atta Ullah, 18, son of Muhammad Ramzan, Faisal, 30, son of Yar Muhammad, Muhammad Idrees, 35, son of Siddique, Muhammad Haneef,20, son of Abbasi, Siraj, 30, son of Juma Khan, Aurangzeb, 40, son of Abdul Qadir, and Allah Ditta, son of Muhammad Yousuf.
Meanwhile, two more people were injured in a firing incident in the Soldier Bazaar area. They were rushed to the CHK for treatment.
