At least twelve passengers were killed in a road accident when a CNG cylinder in a moving van exploded and the vehicle overturned. The incident happened near Nooriabad here Sunday night. According to Motorway police, five bodies and 10 other injured people were pulled out from the van.
Five injured, all of whom sustained severe burn injuries were shifted to Baqai Medical Hospital, Karachi and the others to the hospitals in Hyderabad and Jamshoro.
Meanwhile, the Edhi sources said the death toll could increase twofold as the van was carrying around 20 passengers and that all of them had not been rescued out so far. SHO Nooriabad Aashiq Shar said a fire tender had been called to extinguish the blaze.
