Data provider Platts will shut its Lausanne office, where some Platts Kingsman sugar analysts are based, later this year as it centralises its agricultural operations in London. "This means that later this year we will be closing our Lausanne (Switzerland) office and creating agricultural analyst and pricing positions in London," a spokeswoman said.
Sugar remains one of the cornerstones of Platts' agricultural offerings and the company will continue to support the Kingsman products and services, the spokeswoman said. "The move is designed to bring agricultural analysis closer to other analytical and pricing teams at Platts, as well as to other functions supporting those activities," she said. "As to the positions, the staff in Lausanne will be able to apply for the new positions that will be opening in London."
