Jordan seeks to buy hard wheat

24 Feb, 2015

Jordan's state grain buyer has issued an international tender to purchase 100,000 tonnes of hard milling wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Monday. The tender closes on Mar. 4, they said. Some 50,000 tonnes was sought for shipment between June 1-15 and 50,000 tonnes for June 16-30, they said.
In its last reported tender on February 11, Jordan's state grain buyer purchased 100,000 tonnes of optional-origin hard wheat after seeking offers for the same volume. Benchmark US wheat futures fell 3.3 percent on Friday, marking their biggest decline in nearly two months on more signs of poor export prospects for US supplies.
