Allama Iqbal Airport Emergency Evacuation Exercise held

Considering prevailing security situation and on instruction of Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Air Marshal Muhammad Yousuf, an Emergency Evacuation Exercise was conducted at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on Thursday. The subject exercise was conducted at level-3 of AIIAP Lahore, disclosed a CAA's spokesperson.
Non-toxic smoke was generated in one room of level-3. On activation of fire detection and alarm system CAA fire vehicles, CAA ambulances, ambulance snorkel of Rescue 1122 immediately responded at site. Simulated casualties were stabilised and shifted to hospitals. Passengers and staff were evacuated through stairs and assembled at assembly area. CAA Fire Services, CAA Ambulances, Rescue 1122, ASF, Airlines and Agencies participated in the exercise however, flight operation remained normal. During exercise, latest and most advanced fire detection and alarm system and fire hydrant system were operated.
