Provincial leaders of Sunni Supreme Council (SSC) slammed the provincial government for not arresting killers of renowned religious cleric Mualana Mahmud Shah Rizvi, and announced to start protest movement from Friday (today) across the province.
While addressing a press conference at press club here on Thursday, SSC president Alama Abbul-Fazl Muhammad Fazl Subhan Qadri said that prominent religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Rizvi affiliated with Jamia-e-Ghausia Rizvia in Tehsil Ogi, district Manshera, was killed by unknown armed men.
He said police and district administration had given assurance to arrest killers within a week, but they failed. Accompanied by SSC leaders, Pir Shamsul-Ameen Qadri, Pir Rehmat Karim Qadri, Pir Muhammad Noorul-Haq Qadri, former federal minister Mufti Fazl Jameel Rizvi, Ali Zaman Chishti, Muhammad Ilyas, Dr Shamsur-Rahman Shams and Maulana Agha, he announced to stage protest demonstrations against the administration and it will continue till arrest of the killers and their trial through military court.
