Deputy Assistant Director Nadra Palwasha Afridi on Thursday denied media reports regarding her removal from job for processing Computerised National Identity Cards of Sharbat Bibi, a famous Afghan woman and her two sons and termed the reports are completely baseless. Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, she clarified that there is no reality in media reports, which are too much away from truth.
She said Sharbat Bibi's card was issued by the then incharge of Nadra Hayatabad Centre, Mohsin Ihsan, who is currently working in Income Tax department. She also clarified the Nadra authorities for not giving an official version to clear her position, leaving her with now option but to personally clarifying her position. Showing Nadra verification data, she said the registration form of Sharbat Bibi was signed by Mohsin Ihsan as the then incharge of the centre.
Palwasha further said that Nadra high-ups should analyze the case impartially as per database record. She urged the chairman Nadra to look into this case personally as Nadra officials Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have so far failed to investigate the matter properly.
She also urged the Chairman Nadra to take a serious notice of issuing CNIC to Sharbat Bibi by constituting a high-level inquiry committee immediately. Issuing a CNIC to Sharbat Bibi is talk of the town these days, after negligence on the part of the authority surfaced in national media that Nadra's Hayatabad Centre had issued three CNICs on a single day last year to 46-year-old Sharbat Bibi, the wife of Rehmat Gul, and her two sons, Rauf Khan and Wali Khan, clearly violating rules and regulations.
