Recruitment of constables in KP police begins through NTS

The recruitment of constables in KP police for the year 2015 has been started through NTS. To ensure merit and transparency the recruitment of constables was awarded to NTS in 2014. More than 37,000 candidates had applied through NTS last year which shows the overwhelming response and confidence of people on the process. Around 2,600 constables were finally selected in all the 24 districts of KP through a transparent and verifiable process.
Last date for submission of applications to NTS is March 12. Physical test of the candidates will be held from March 13 to April 11, 2015 at centres established in Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Timargara, Chitral, Abbotabad, Mansehra, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan.
Written test of the eligible candidates will be held on April 19. Final selection of the candidates will be done after qualifying the emotional intelligence test conducted by senior and qualified psychologists. In order to encourage the educated youth for joining the police force, additional marks will be given to the applicants as per the following format: Intermediate (two marks), Bachelor degree (two marks), Master degree and above one mark only.
Moreover, in order to afford an opportunity to the Special Police Officers (SPOs) to join the regular force, five years special concession in age and additional three marks have been offered to all such SPOs who are otherwise physically fit and eligible and have completed three years satisfactory service in their districts.
The IGP KP Nasir Khan Durrani has said that positive change in police force and Thana culture can only be brought through a transparent and merit based enlistment process. He said that the constables recruited through fair and independent recruitment process will infuse a fresh spirit of service, honesty and impartiality in KP police.
