The newly established Khyber Writers Club (KWC) elected its first-cabinet here during a meeting held here with Organiser Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi in the chair. The meeting unanimously elected Abdullah Sani advocate as chairman of the KWC, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi as president, Nayyar Sarhadi senior vice president, Ikramullah Mohmand vice president, Dr Salahuddin general secretary, Abid Akhtar Hassan joint secretary, Waseem Shahid finance secretary and Mohammad Daud as media secretary respectively.
The members of the executive committee would be elected during the first meeting of the cabinet. On this occasion, the members of the club appreciated the establishment of the KWC and said that for first time such a platform, whose doors are open for writers from different section of life and language.
They also appreciated the services of the president KWC, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi and his role his columnist. The club they said would be included poets, columnists, writers, blog-writers, novelists and literacy persons of all languages. On this occasion, chairman, KWC, Abdullah Sani advocate declared the newly establish body as think-tank of the country and asked provincial and federal governments for spearheading it. He said that in this connection, the government would be approached very soon and was hopeful that the government will also welcome the establishment of this body.
