Overseas Pakistanis Commission begins functioning in Punjab

Punjab government has set up Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) to resolve the problems of Pakistanis living abroad and facilitate them. The commission has started functioning. 34 complaints were registered by OPC during one week and immediate action was taken on them to redress the grievances. This was stated by Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Afzal Bhatti during a meeting held here on Tuesday.
Director Police Captain Mobeen (Retd) was also present on the occasion. Afzal Bhatti said that overseas Pakistanis are earning huge foreign exchange for the country and a commission has been set up to address their complaints. He said that Punjab government has also constituted committees at district level to resolve the problems of overseas Pakistanis. DCOs, DPOs as well as elected representatives will be the members of these committees which will address the complaints of overseas Pakistanis at the local level or refer to overseas Pakistanis Commission. Afzaal Bhatti further said that focal persons have also been appointed in all Pakistani embassies which will send the complaints of overseas Pakistanis directly to the commission.
