Three suspects held for contacts with Taliban in Hangu

Hangu police have arrested three suspects for contacts with the Taliban and recovered cache of arms from their possession during a search and strike operation here on Tuesday. SHO Hangu, Khan Ullah Wazir said that during a successful raid police arrested two outlaws having contacts with banned Tehreek-e-Taliban while a third suspect was also arrested from the same area.
He said the DPO received information that Taliban may attack educational institutions in Hangu district upon which a thorough operation was initiated. He said during the operation three persons including two persons who had contacts with Taliban were arrested.
One RPG rocket launcher, four rockets, three fuses, five pistols, four chargers, two rifles, one Kalashnikov and hundreds of cartridges were recovered from the possession of arrested persons, he added. He said that strict security measures have been taken to avert any possible bid of sabotage. He stressed upon the general public to put their share in peace efforts and inform about any suspicious activity in their areas to the police at the earliest.
