The tribal elders from North Waziristan Agency expressed voice concern over deduction of tax from cash relief package for IDPs by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and urged the government and the FBR to ensure full disbursement of relief amount without any deduction to the IDPs.
While addressing at press conference at Peshawar press club here on Tuesday, elder of Waziristan Qaumi Jirga (WQJ), Malik Gul Naeem Wazir said the FBR has deducted 0.5 million rupees from financial relief package, announced by the government for IDPs of North Waziristan Agency. Malik Wazir mentioned that government has announced 12,000 rupees per month for each IDP family.
The elders urged the government to immediate ensure disbursement of dues to IDPs from NWA under financial relief package. He said the delay in payment of relief package from FDMA was created great unrest among the IDPs families. Malik Wazir also urged the federal government and relevant stakeholders to announce date for early return of IDPs to their hometown in NWA. He said the IDPs were being faced numerous difficulties due to lack of accommodation, education, health and other facilities at their makeshift camps. The elders urged the Director FDMA to take prompt steps for disbursement of financial amount to IDPs.
