Farmers have been advised to ensure sanitation at their fields and spraying prophylactic fungicidal with a view to protect vegetable crops from diseases. According to the met office advisory, farmers should control weeds from further growth through using manual techniques or any herbicides to help wheat crop attain full maturity.
It said that wheat crop was in heading/flowering. Thus, farmers should schedule crop irrigation keeping in view the continuing rainy spell in the agricultural plains of the country.
It also said that farmers of upper-half and north-west Balochistan should be cautious while irrigating and spraying chemicals on the crops. "Farmers of irrigated/ barani areas are advised to remove weeds from the fields, so that the present soil moisture may fully be utilised," it added.
