In other legislative measures, Punjab Assembly passed 'The Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Land Revenue (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Partition of Immovable Property (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Security of Vulnerable Establishments Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Arms (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Criminal Prosecution Service(Constitution) Functions and Powers (Amendment) Bill 2015', 'The Punjab Sound System (Regulation) Bill 2015', and 'The Punjab Prohibition of Expressing Matters on Walls (Amendment) Bill 2015' on the occasion.
Punjab Minister for Jails in a query period told that there were 64 prisoners awaiting death penalty in Punjab prisons. Answering another question, he stated that their department conducted 51,931 tests of AIDS on prisoners. He dilated that 436 prisoners showed positive results in those tests. To a query, the Minister for Welfare stated that there were 1,500 welfare centres of department in Punjab. He said there were 117 Family Health Units in the province.
Punjab Minister for Jails to a question further disclosed that there were 194 women prisoners in Punjab till 24-09-2013 period. He to a question stated that 36 prisoners aged 70-80 remained in Punjab jails till period 13-01-2014. The Minister for Welfare to a query stated that population growth rate in Lahore was 1.9 percent at present, adding that the rate was 3.1 percent in 1980 and 2.1 percent in 1988.
