Parents of APS martyred students reject renaming of schools

09 Mar, 2015

The parents of the martyrs and injured students of Army Public School (APS) have rejected the naming of schools after the martyrs and a so-called 'Shuhada Forum' established in this regard. Talking to this scribe, the father of a martyred student said that he was not consulted before the preparation of the recommendations for naming schools after the names of martyrs. He said that the recommendations have been prepared by the so-called parents of the martyrs. He said that the parents of martyred and injured students and staff members of the school had disowned these vested interests that are out to in-cash the martyrdom.
They parents had appealed federal government, Pakistan Army, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and other government agencies for contacting them individually as parents of the martyred and injured students and staff members had not given representation on the Forum.
The parents are also critical of likes and dislikes in the inclusion of the names of injured APS students for treatment in Agha Khan Hospital, Karachi. They alleged that the Forum has included the names of their relatives in the list and obtained funds in the name of their treatment while all expenses on the treatment, accommodation and food had borne by the provincial government of Sindh.
They also questioned the identification of the person, which was sent to Karachi as co-ordinator, which they added is neither father or brother or doctor. They demanded conducting of complete inquiry in this regard.
Furthermore, he told that an amount of Rs 50000/- was also collected or demanded from the people in head of air tickets from Peshawar to Karachi. Furthermore, they also demanded for conducting inquiry into the sending of the students on foreign visit and Umrah. The parents of the martyred and injured students are also going to reveal further information in a media conference to be addressed shortly.
