The city police claimed to have killed two alleged terrorists during a raid here on Tuesday. According to police, the raid was conducted in Quaidabad's Old Muzafar Abad area in the wee hours of Monday night. The accused instead of surrendering themselves on arrival of the police opened fire on them. However none of the policemen was injured. In retaliatory firing by the police, two accused were killed on the spot.
Those who were killed in the 'encounter' were allegedly involved in murder, extortion, and other crime cases. The police further claimed to have recovered arms from their possession during the course of raid. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem examinations. In another incidebce, Chand Quraishi, son of Mushtaq, was gunned down by unidentified persons in Landhi No-2. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
Meanwhile, Riaz, son of Samandar Khan ,was shot and injured by unidentified men in Lyari's Meranaka area. He was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medical assistance. Similarly, Yasir. son of Shehzad. was injured by unidentified gunman in Defence, Khayaban-e-Tauheed Phase-V. He was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
