Educationists and researchers at an inaugural session of three-day International Conference on Statistical Sciences, stressed upon the need to promote stats-based research tendency in the universalities and other government institutions of the province.
The conference was organised by Islamia College University Peshawar (ICUP) in collaboration with Institute of Management Sciences (IM Sciences), Hayatabad, Peshawar and Islamic Society of Statistical Sciences (ISOSS), which started at Roose Keppel Hall of the ICUP here on Monday. Vice Chancellor of Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, Prof Dr Ihsan Ali Khan, was the chief guest of the session.
The ICUP Vice Chancellor Ajmal Khan, Vice Chancellor KP Agricultural University, Peshawar Prof Dr Zahoor Swati, the Director of IM Sciences, Prof Dr Mohsin Khan, President of ISOSS Prof Dr Munir Ahmad Khan, Registrar ICUP Prof Dr Sareer Badshah, Dean Faculty of Numerical Sciences, ICUP Prof Dr Inayat Ali Shah besides students, teachers and researchers also attended the inaugural session.
Prof Dr Ihsan Ali Khan, while speaking on the occasion, said that the KP has made remarkable progress in a very short span of time by establishing 11 archaeology museums and 11 universities in the province, however, regretted that very little information is available outside KP about this progress.
He further said that the ICUP has organised this conference in line with its supreme educational and research traditions. He expressed the hope that this conference would play a pivotal role in bringing together the knowledge available on the subject of Statistics and promote research in this discipline.
The ICUP VC in his address highly appreciated the holding of this international conference and appreciated the efforts of the organisers for giving a robust start to educational and research activities. He said that the conference would provide a platform to the academia, researchers, experts and students to share their knowledge and promote the research in the field of Statistics.
Director IM Sciences Prof Dr Mohsin Khan while addressing the participants has said that his institute established in 1998 with a supreme objective of promoting management education and research in the province.
