Shahbaz lauds police for recovery of kidnapped girl

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has hailed the performance of the Police Operations Inspector General and the police following the discovery of a three-year-old girl named Laiba who was kidnapped in Gulberg. In a meeting with the girl and her parents, the chief minister said the police displayed a spirit of dutifulness by recovering the girl and that the police performance was commendable.
He then doled out certificates to the Gulberg Deputy Superintendent of Police and the station house officer(SHO) plus a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to the Assistant Superintendent of Police of the Factory Area Police Station and Rs 25,000 each for constables. He also congratulated the father, Waseem and mother of the recovered girl.
Waseem said he was happy with the police co-operation and thanked the chief minister.
Laiba was kidnapped from the National Park in Gulberg on Sunday night and found alive during the checking of a rickshaw at a picket. The kidnapper was arrested.
In another case, the chief minister has called for the arrest of unknown gunmen who had shot two Chinese women in Garden Town and sought a report.
The women narrowly escaped death.
