Two alleged extortionists held in Karachi

Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Tuesday claimed to have arrested two alleged extortionists in a joint operation with the police. Various fake SIMs, cell phones and copies of national identity cards were also recovered during the course of action.
"CPLC Sindh received a complaint from Mohammad Aijaz that he had been asked to pay an amount of Rs 0.5 million failing which he'll be faced the consequences. An FIR No 90/2015 was registered in North Karachi Industrial Area police station." said spokesman for CPLC.
The spokesman said that CPLC and NKIA police chalked out a strategy to trap the culprits and cordoned off the spot where the culprits had to come to collect the money.
When the culprits reached on the spot to collect money, the officials of CPLC and police came into action and after a little resistance both extortionists were arrested successfully.
Weapons also have been recovered on the basis of information revealed by the accused. A raid was conducted on their houses and recovered fake SIMs, national identity cards copies and various cell phones. Both the alleged extortionists were kept in police custody. Further investigations are in process, he added.
