The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) will issue computerised Admit Cards to candidates appearing in the intermediate examinations scheduled for April 2015. Talking to media persons at his office, BIEK Chairman Anwar Ahmed Zai said on Tuesday that the examination process was being revamped to make it fair and transparent.
Zai said that BIEK had finalised arrangements to issue computerised admit cards, which would contain picture of a candidate, bar code, name of examination centre as well as date sheet.
He said that the board had already completed the task of issuance of Enrolment and Registration Cards that also contained picture of a candidate as well as bar code. "Enrolment cards have been sent to the concerned colleges whereas the Registration Cards have been sent to the candidates' addresses," he added.
Sharing further details, he said that BIEK had designated eight branches of United Bank Limited to facilitate the students. "Now the students and general public need not to visit the Board instead they can approach the designated branches to deposit their fees or forms," he added. The designated branches of the United Bank Limited are Malir City Branch, Orangi Town Branch, New Karachi Branch, UBL Building Branch, North Nazimabad (Block A), City Branch, and Korangi Industrial Area Branch. In addition, the Board has also deputed official staff at the designated branches to guide and facilitate the students and general public. Keeping in view the need of the day, Zai said the board was establishing a Call Centre to ensure provision of prompt and timely information to all concerned, which would start functioning within a couple of months. "After the establishment of the Call Centre every one will have an easy access to the Board through phone line besides the official website," he concluded.
