University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) will launch a 'Students Summer Working Opportunity Program' aiming at providing hands on training, and financial assistance to the students. It was revealed in a Deans' Committee meeting with UAF Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan in the chair at Syndicate Hall on Monday.
Addressing the participants, Dr Khan said this massive campaign will pave the way to capacity-building and leadership development among varsity students. He was of the view that scholars are supposed to prepare themselves for future challenges that's why varsity is providing them a platform with incentive. Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan added that summer paid working facility would be extended to more than 5 thousands students as ORIC is going to launch a massive campaign on the issue. Dean's committee also reviewed the new admission policy for undergraduate degree programmes and impact of entrance test for encouraging students' intake those have love and motivation with the sector. The Vice Chancellor described the Faculty Exchange programme with University of California Davis US, a unique opportunity and said that for 100 slots, the administration would encourage the young faculty members who did not visit US so as to enable them make a strong professional linkages. He said new phase of entry test would be commenced in the first week of June. He urged the Faculty of Engineering to launch a Bio-System Engineering Degree programme as the CAS offers such opportunity of launching new degree programs. Dr Khan said that Planning Commission of Pakistan is investing 250 million rupees on IT infrastructure development at campus to make the system more efficient and traceable.
