He said that role of FCCI was of only recommendatory nature and it was helping the government and the government departments in budget formulation and policy-making with special focus on economic, financial, monitory and trade-related issues. The FCCI is also making strenuous efforts to bridge the gap between the government and business community so as to streamline the system and facilitate the government as well as business community to play their dynamic role to achieve the cherished objectives of progress and prosperity.
Responding to a question, he said that FCCI took a serious notice of the increase in street crimes few months back. We, in collaboration with civil society, exerted full pressure on the government and law enforcing agencies to hit hard the criminals involved in street crimes. He said that as a result of our efforts, the major culprits were killed in encounters and a visible decline was recorded in street crimes. He said that women form 53 percent of our population and hence they should also enter into the national mainstream and play their role proportionate to their population.
Regarding unfriendly social environment for females in our society, he said that it was a mindset responsible of this situation; however, progressive women have to take bold steps right now to bring positive social and societal behavioural change in our society.
