SECP revises work/responsibilities of commissioners

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has revised the work/responsibilities of its commissioners. The SECP has issued SRO.270(I)/2015 here on Wednesday in supersession of SRO.113(I)/2015, dated 6th February, 2015.
In exercise of powers conferred by regulation 4(1) (C ) of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 2000, and in supersession of SRO.113(i)/2015, dated 6th February, 2015, the Chairman SECP has decided that the Commissioners shall, in addition to any other work assigned to them from time to time, be responsible to oversee the work of Divisions/Departments of the SECP as specified:
Chairman SECP Zafar-ul-Haq Hijazi, in addition to his own duties, would look after the work of Chairman's Secretariat and Commission's Secretariat.
Commissioner Tahir Mahmood would have the portfolio of Company Law Division; Litigation, Legislation and General Counsel Division; Appellate Bench and Support Services Division, Zafar Abdullah, Specialised Companies Division and Audit Oversight Board.
Commissioner Akif Saeed has been given the portfolio of Securities Market Division; IS & T Department; transformation and Knowledge Management Department and Market Development and Investor's Education Department.
Fida Hussain Samoo has been given portfolio of Insurance Division.
The SECP added that Internal Audit and Compliance Department shall be looked after by the Advisor to the Commission/Member Audit Committee.
