The Director General Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday visited the Jinnah International Airport to review the overall cleanliness of the terminal building and to get firsthand information on the general state of affairs of all the service providers and agencies working there.
In over two-hour long inspection of the terminal he visited every kitchen and after a comprehensive check of the condition of the refrigerators and various cooking utensils and food stuff asked the staff concerned to maintain the set standards of food preparation and keep the kitchen spic and span, because the customers expects quality food from the airport restaurants.
He also took a round of the lounges and concourse to see the overall cleanliness and asked the facilitation staff to be more vigilant and careful in dealing with the passengers. He advised all those working at the terminal to serve the passengers with a smile so that the passengers leave the airport with pleasant memories.
The DG also checked the complaint register available at the facilitation desk and got a complete briefing about the disposal of the complaints. He also himself telephoned a couple of complainants to find out if their complaints had been addressed in time and to their satisfaction.
Addressing the terminal staff after the inspection, he said that professionalism in airport services included how you carry yourself, your attitude and how you interact with passengers. In fact, it was all about doing ones job with sincerity, and maintaining professional etiquette and ethics in the workplace, he added.-PR
