18 Apr, 2015

Chief Executive, Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) held special meeting with Superintendent Engineers (SEs) Peshawar and Khyber Circle to achieve targets set by the Ministry of Water & Power and NEPRA.
Keeping in view Ministry of Water & Power and NEPRA directions a meeting was held by Chief Executive Pesco Syed Hassan Fazil with SE Peshawar Iqbal Khan Marwat and SE Khyber Circle Bukhtzada Khan along with respective XENs at Wapda House Peshawar.
These two Circles have been given 115% recovery target by the Ministry of Water & Power; and reduction in Line Losses the NEPRA has given the target.
All the Circles were directed to gear up for the achievement of Ministry of Water & Power and NEPRA targets at all costs. Drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks were discussed, Chief Executive has shown his disappointment on the pace of this drive, hence important decisions were taken in this regard.
CEO Pesco ordered no one should be spared who is involved in power theft, as due to this power pilferage Pesco's distribution system is over loaded on one side and on the other side Pesco's Line Losses increase and people also face frequent power breakdowns and load shedding.
CEO Pesco issued strict instructions to all XENs to speed up the drive to curb the power pilferage.
Similarly, revenue collection from defaulters was also discussed and important steps were ordered in this regard. It has been decided to disconnect power supply to all defaulters immediately and not to restore power supply until the dues were paid.
Federal government has decided to use NAB in addition to Police & Pesco staff for recovery of dues from defaulters.
To review the Recovery and Line Losses position of Peshawar & Khyber Circle, a meeting will be held after one month, where the achieved targets will be compared with the given targets and action will be initiated against the officers and staff who fail to achieve.
In view to meet the targets set by Ministry of Water & Power and NEPRA Pesco management has decided that all field offices including SE, XEN, and SDO offices will remain open on all Saturday till 30th June 2015.
