The Islamabad High court summoned four federal secretaries in different contempt cases over failure to implement the court directives for the payment of salaries to petitioners. The contempt petitions filed by Advocate Raja Saif-Ur-Rehman were against Secretary Health Mohammad Ayub Sheikh, Secretary Climate Change Arif Ahmad Khan, Director General National Commission for Human Development Dr Allah Bakash Malik and Former Chief Commissioner Tariq Pirzada.
A single bench compromising Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi, while hearing the contempt petitions observed that salaries had not been paid to the petitioners despite the lapse of two and a half years and in other petitions court orders were not implemented.
Earlier, the respondents were directed to release the salary of petitioners or else the respondents could file comments and the case would be fixed for hearing before the court. The petitioners counsel prayed that appropriate action be taken against the respondents for disobeying the court orders.
