Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday directed dissolution of the tribunal probing irregularities in the inter-party elections for the second time. The PTI chairman did not appear before the tribunal repeatedly after two summons. The tribunal headed by Justice Wajihuddin (retd) which was probing PTI's inter-party elections matter has been dissolved again. Earlier, on March 19 the tribunal was dissolved.
The tribunal had sent PTI secretary general Jahangir Tareen at least two show-cause notices for not holding party elections. Tareen maintained that the party was demonstrating protest against rigging in the General Elections 2013 and had called a sit-in at D-Chowk in the capital thus it was not possible to hold party elections. The tribunal also summoned Imran Khan but he failed to appear before the tribunal after he vowed to do so in his statements and through PTI spokesperson Shireen Mazari.
