RIYADH: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud here Thursday and discussed the situation arising out of the Yemen crisis. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who arrived here on a day-long visit met the King of Saudi Arabia at the King's Palace. He was accompanied by Minister for Defense, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, Special Assistant to PM, Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry.
During the delegation level talks, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud led their respective delegations. The Saudi King also hosted a luncheon in honour of Prime Minister Sharif and members of his delegation. Upon arrival at the Royal Palace, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud warmly received the Prime Minister at the main entrance.
Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Crown Prince and Minister for Interior, Prince Mohammad bin Nayef Al-Saud and Defence Minister, Prince Mohammad bin Salman also met Prime Minister Sharif and discussed matters of mutual interest. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also met President of Yemen, Mansour Hadi in Riyadh.
Earlier, upon arrival at the airport, the Prime Minister was received by Deputy Crown Prince and Minister for Interior, Prince Mohammad bin Nayef Al-Saud and Minister for Defence, Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud. A guard of honour was presented to the Prime Minister on his arrival. The Prime Minister proceeded to the King's palace for his meeting with the Saudi leadership. Earlier on board special plane, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting on the Yemen situation which was attended by Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif; Chief of the Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, PM's Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry.
