Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said Altaf Hussain has hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakistanis by requesting Indian intelligence agency RAW to extend help and that he should immediately apologise to the nation. He was replying to a question after inaugurating Workers Welfare Project at Sundar Estate here on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that at a time when government is fighting against internal and external enemies involved in terrorism in the country and brave armed forces are rendering supreme sacrifices in the war, this statement amounts to treason against national objectives. In reply to another question, Shahbaz Sharif said that it is a national, constitutional and moral responsibility of MQM office-bearers and workers to announce dissociation with the statement of Altaf Hussain.
