Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday adopted a resolution unanimously demanding of the federal government to take immediate action against the self-imposed exile MQM chief Altaf Hussain for his provocative statement regarding national institutions and sensitive national matters.
The joint resolution, tabled by provincial ministers Shah Farman and Inayatullah Khan, states that Altaf Hussain in his mentioned statement has not only insulted the nation, but also incited his followers against the state, imparting of training and provoked for fighting.
In his speech, the resolution states, Altaf Hussain has also requested Indian secret agency, RAW, for support and not holding him accountable for the statement may confront the national security, independence and the federation of Pakistan with severe threats. Therefore, this house recommends to the federal government to review the statement and initiate steps for registering high treason case under Article 6 of the constitution to ensure the security of the state of Pakistan. From the opposition benches, Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli also read out the resolution. The Speaker Asad Qaiser put the resolution to vote and the house adopted it unanimously.
