Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Chinese head of delegation, Jiwei Lou and Japanese Head of Delegation Taro Aso on the sidelines of the 48th Annual Meeting of ADB Board of Governors here on Monday. They exchanged views on the bilateral economic relations and other areas of mutual interest.
Both Heads of Delegation highly appreciated economic turn around of Pakistan and achievement for the level of foreign exchange reserves. They also had discussion on the global economic situation and related issues. They agreed to continue working together and strengthening bilateral economic co-operation.
The discussion with Chinese head of delegation focused on AIIB. The Finance Minister signed the MoU on AIIB as founding member. Dar said the Bank would highly facilitate underdeveloped and developing countries in Asia who needed help in building up infrastructure. The Finance Minister also invited Jiwei Lou to visit Pakistan as he could not accompany the Chinese President during his recent visit to Pakistan. Jiwei Lou said the warmth and cordiality that the whole Pakistani nation extended to the Chinese President during his visit reflected the true spirit and depth of friendly relations between the two countries. He thanked Finance Minister Dar for the invitation to visit Pakistan.
