Budget to be presented on June 5

The government plans to present annual budget 20015-16 on June 5 and summon a joint session of parliament on June 4, reliable sources in Ministry of Finance disclosed to this correspondent. Pakistan People's Party leader Syed Naveed Qamar also confirmed to Business Recorder that his party has been intimated that budget session of both Houses of Parliament would be summoned on June 4 and national budget 2015-16 would be presented on June 5.
The government has given the task of printing budget documents to Printing Corporation of Pakistan (PCP). Rangers have been deployed inside and outside the building of the corporation to maintain the secrecy of budgetary documents. Managing Director PCP Khizr Hayat told Business Recorder that the PCP will start printing budgetary documents from May 7 (Thursday) onwards well before the budgetary speech of Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar. "We have not yet been given the final date for announcement of next fiscal year budget but we expect it to be in the first week of June," he said. Sources further said that ministries, divisions, attached departments were also directed to surrender their annual savings till May 15 in favour of federal government under general financial rules.
