Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Ltd (PPCBL) has recovered Rs 120.5 million non-performing loans in Bahawalpur division. This was disclosed in a meeting presided over by Registrar Co-operatives Punjab Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari. Zonal Chief Bahawalpur and district officers from Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar also attended the meeting.
PPCBL spokesman told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the bank continues extending agriculture loans amounting to Rs 2.5 billion for sowing and growing the Kharif crops including cotton, rice, sugarcane, vegetables, fodder for livestock and fruit orchards.
He said the bank has allocated Rs 329.7 million to Lahore division, Rs 291.17 to Gujranwala division, Rs 76 million to Rawalpindi division, Rs 160. 32 million to Sargodha division, Rs 389.93 million to Faisalabad, Rs 385.33 million to Bahawalpur division, Rs 275.25 million to Multan division, Rs 420.21 million to Sahiwal and Rs 172 million to DG Khan division for advancement of agriculture loans till June 30, 2015. The spokesman said the bank is also advancing loans amounting to Rs 11 billion for livestock, purchase of tractors etc.
