First three-day Youth Carnival commences at IST

First Youth Carnival commenced at Institute of Space Technology (IST) on Thursday, which is spread over three days from May 7 to 9. It is one of the largest event nation-wide featuring about 60 events with the participation of more than 50 universities from all over Pakistan.
The carnival features a diverse blend of events providing means of interest to a wide variety of aptitudes. The students are called upon to display their oratory, planning, artistic and cognitive skills while taking part in various competitions. Such an activity of getting to know people from various parts of the country develops a broader vision and tolerance towards others. The event started with an elegant opening ceremony on May 7. Fida Hussain, Director General Academics, Higher Education Commission (HEC) graced the occasion as chief guest.
He said the co-curricular activities in educational institutions were very important. These activities help students to develop an understanding of human nature, how to lead and be lead, the dynamics of working as a team, motivating people and getting the maximum output from them. He also emphasised on importance of role models, how the virtues of fairness, politeness, integrity and honesty helps in achieving the high standards in professional life.-PR
