Digital Youth Summit 2015 concludes

The three-day International Information Technology Conference titled "Digital Youth Summit 2015" concluded in Peshawar. IT experts, delegates, academia, students and representatives of International IT Companies attended the conference in large number. The conference was organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board in collaboration with World Bank, Peshawar 2.0 and other partner organisations.
At the end of the conference around 1500 IT students got themselves registered with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board (KPITB) who will be provided training on on-line business. The main objective of the conference was to provide the plate form to the young generation specially the IT students of the Province to get together and show case their innovating and creative ideas with the aim to generate employment opportunities to the young generation with particular focus on online jobs.
Another important aim of the event was to promote IT in the province and effective utilisation of IT for civic facilitations, ensuring transparency in government affairs and including the performance of government departments. It also aimed at providing an opportunity for IT inviter and entrepreneurs of the province to connect with the rest of the world and share ideas and get educated about the tech-entrepreneurs ship and online work as a high potential alternative to traditional jobs.
The conference provided in opportunity to IT students and young generations of the province to have face to face interaction with IT experts and representatives of International IT Companies. During the conference some talented students of IT hailing from the province were able to develop Mobile Apps extremely useful for including the performance of government departments.
Addressing the concluding session of the conference as a chief guest Senior Provincial Minister for Information Technology Shahram Khan Tarakai termed the holding of the conference as an important step forward for the promotion of IT in the Province and said that the holding of such a Mega IT event in Peshawar was the beginning of Naya Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He announced that next year Digital Youth Summit will be held in a much better way and on a larger scale.
The Provincial Minister reveals that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board was being revamped and extended to other parts of the Province. "National Development in progress is not possible without promoting in Information Technology and keeping in view the same importance of IT, the Provincial Government was taking result-oriented steps to introduce IT in all government sectors." Shahram Khan said and added that introduction of independent Monitoring Units in Health and Education Department was an example of the same which are yielding very positive and encouraging result as it has put in place a very affective mechanism of monitoring.
The function was also addressed by Provincial Minister Shah Farman Khan, Secretary Information Technology, Farah Hamid Khan and other speakers.
