A data by Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell claims up to 11 people have lost their lives and 552 more seriously injured in 620 road accidents in all 36 districts of the Punjab during the past 24 hours. The data also said 273 drivers, 28 under-age drivers, 130 pedestrians and 370 passengers were among the injured and that 149 RTAs were reported in the Lahore Control Room, which affected 170 people placing the provincial capital at top of the list followed by 49 RTAs in Faisalabad with 71 victims and Gujranwala at in the third place with 41 RTAs and 46 victims.
It said 773 people were affected by road crashes including 585 males and 188 females, while age group of the affected showed that 122 were below 18 years of age, 477 between 18 and 40 and the rest of the 174 injured above 40. It then said 473 motorbikes, 95 auto rickshaws, 69 motorcars, 51 vans, 05 passenger buses, 20 lorries and 62 other types of auto vehicles and carts were involved in the accidents.
