A Federal Investigation Agency's team probing an alleged fake degree scam on Friday recorded the statements of two sales officers of Axact, the IT company. Sources said that Hasnain-ur-Rehman and Sajjad Haider, sales officers, submitted their written statements.
The Axact officials admitted that they were working as sales officers and had the only responsibility to successfully persuade clients for admissions in foreign countries through telephone calls and later connect them with the company's head-office in Karachi. "We have no information about issuance of fake degrees but company had asked them to introduce themselves with clients with fake names like George and Mike," they further told the investigators, sources said. Sources said that FIA team contacted Higher Education Commission (HEC) and an institution CHIA in the US after recording the statements of Axact officials.
They said that an FIA team also recorded the statements of other four officials of Axact on May 21 who includes Regional Head Jamil Ahmed, Senior Manager Safety and Security Muhammad Younis, Assistant Manager Human Resources Abid Khan and Assistant Manager IT Muhammad Amjad.
