Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said the future of Pakistan is linked with the provision of quality education and the Punjab government is utilising all resources for achieving this objective. He said that holding of children literature festival is aimed at providing them an opportunity of curricular activities and polishing their creative abilities.
The Provincial Minister disclosed that children literature festivals will be held in seven big cities of the province next year and ten million rupees will be allocated during next fiscal year for this purpose. He expressed these views while addressing a Children Literature Festival held in collaboration with Education Department, Children Literature Festival, Idara Taleem-o-Aagahi, Umeed-e-Naujawan and Purazam Pakistan, Saturday. Director Programmes ITA Dr Bela Raza Jamil, EDO Education Pervaiz Akhtar, teachers and children were present in large numbers.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that Parho Punjab-Barho Punjab programme has been started for increasing school enrolment and enhancing quality education under which Members National and Provincial Assemblies are adopting schools and the facilities in schools are improving. He said it is target of the Punjab government that no child from the age of five to nine years should remain out of school up to 2018.
