39 students including two lady teachers were injured as the roof of a private school's classroom collapsed in Basti Ali Wala at Muzaffargarh Road here on Saturday. Rescue 1122 spokesman said the construction work was in progress in a shop adjacent to the school when the roof of school's classroom collapsed. Resultantly, 39 students and a teacher sustained injuries.
Rescue 1122 teams reached the spot and provided first aid to 33 minor injured besides shifting six critically injured to Nishtar Hospital. The police concerned took the principal of the school into custody. EDO Education Ishfaq Ahmad Gujjar said that action would be taken against the school administration if found guilty. The school was registered with Punjab Education Foundation. Muzaffarabad (Multan) police have registered a case against the owners.
