Commercial plots, housing schemes: OPF to fix 60 percent quota for overseas Pakistanis, 40 percent for public

30 May, 2015

Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Board of Governors on Friday decided to fix 60 percent quota of commercial plots for Overseas Pakistanis whereas the remaining 40 percent plots will be offered to the general public in all the housing schemes launched by OPF.
According to a statement issued here, the plots will be allotted to the respective bidders through open auction in a transparent manner. The board accorded its formal approval to a proposal to link the OPF Housing Scheme Zone-V through the Gulburg Greens Housing and Residentia, a project of Intelligence Bureau Employees Co-operative Housing Society.
This link road will not only shorten the distance by many kilometres as presently the OPF scheme is being approached via Japan road. The new link will also increase the market-value of the scheme. The Board was informed by the Project In-Charge of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) that the development work of the OPF Valley Zone-V would be completed within 60 days and the project would be handed over to OPF. After the assurance about completion of the development work by the FWO, the Board directed the OPF management to hand over physical position to successful allotees of OPF Valley Zone, Islamabad.
The Board also directed OPF management to inform the successful allotees to start the construction work within three months after taking over physical position. The board allowed to raise the amount of financial aid from Rs 0.15 million to Rs 0.25 million for the families of deceased and disabled Overseas Pakistanis who are registered members of OPF and fulfil the required criteria of the scheme.
The Board in principle allowed the OPF management to explore and examine the proposal for collaboration with Shifa International Hospital for establishment and launching of nursing and para-medical training institution. The 127th meeting of the OPF Board of Governors was held at OPF Head Office and was chaired by Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Pir Syed Saddarudin Shah Rashdi.
