Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah following the directives of Sindh High Court has ordered removal of two SPs with immediate effect and constituted a two-member committee of senior officers to investigate into the incident of May 23 and report within 10 days.
He took this decision during a meeting held at CM House in the light of High Court orders issued in the contempt case. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Siddiq Memon, Secretary Law Mir Mohammad Shaikh and others. The chief minister while taking serious view of the police action on May 23 constituted a two-member committee of senior officers of grade B-21, Subhan Memon, Chairman Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT), and Mumtaz Ali Shah Secretary Works & Services to probe into the matter and submit a report within 10 days. Meanwhile, the chief minister ordered the transfer of two SPs Zishan Siddiqi of South and Asad Raza of Central to report to IG office with immediate effect.
