‘Charlie’s Angels’ are returning to the big screen in September 2019 for the third time with Kristen Stewart as the main lead in the movie.
Stewart, Naomi Scott and a newcomer British actress Ella Balinska have been confirmed as new stars of ‘Charlie’s Angels reboot’ . The female trio will be lead by Stewart. It's been six years since the last Twilight movie came out and it’s high time that Stewart joins another huge Hollywood blockbuster.
“You take a story that’s usually kind of, for lack of a better word, not silly, but just kind of funny, campy,” said Stewart while discussing her project. “The movie should still be fun but, like, if you ground it and make it about women that really know how to help each other, it’ll be, like, perfect to release now. Like, we’re all together and strong,” she added.
The 1970’s crime caper will be directed by Elizabeth Banks who made her full-length debut as a film-maker with the comedy sequel ‘Pitch Perfect 2’. She will also join the cast as Bosley, which was played by a man on both the original television series and in the first two movies.
This movie is the third installment in the Charlie’s Angels film series which starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu as three women working in a private detective agency in Los Angeles which did a worldwide box office business of over $500 million.
