Spot basis bids for corn and soyabeans were mostly unchanged in the US Midwest on Wednesday and farmer selling was slowed by a drop in Chicago Board of Trade corn, soya and wheat futures, dealers said. Producers booked light amounts of old-crop corn early in the day but phones stopped ringing after the US Department of Agriculture's monthly supply/demand reports, released at 11 am CDT (1600 GMT), failed to lift CBOT futures.
The USDA raised its estimate of US 2015/16 winter wheat production and US wheat ending stocks above trade expectations, pressuring CBOT wheat.
