It gives me immense pleasure to learn that in keeping with its past practice, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is organising the 38th annual 'Export Trophy Awards' ceremony. The government is cognisant of the challenges faced by the business community emanating from power disruptions, floods and law and order issues. The government is addressing these issues on top priority. It is laudable that despite these impediments the industry has come up with innovative solutions and has increased our exports around the world.
Policies to incentivize exporters are being promoted in the absence of a level playing field and consequent though competitionfromregionalpowerhouses. The Generalised Scheme of preferences securing access to EU markets is a case in point. I assure the private sector of the Government's utmost support in consolidating our foothold in existing markets and at the same time in finding new avenues for the promotion of exports, thus contributing to the drive for earning higher foreign exchange for the country.
With the passage of time, the FPCCI Export Trophy Awards has evolved from a token of acknowledgement of export acumen to an entire institution for the recognition of outstanding performance by exporters, which is highly regarded both locally and globally.
The Awards undoubtedly provide encouragement to our exporters to achieve higher standards of quality and excellence. I extend my congratulations to all the winners and the FPCCI and wish them continued success in the future.
