A grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service on Wednesday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the allotment of his house to a judicial officer. The petitioner Dr Faisal Awan filed the petition through advocate Mohammad Waqas Malik challenging the allotment of a house to civil judge Rasool Buksh Mir Jatt.
He made registrar Islamabad High Court (IHC), secretary ministry of housing and works, secretary establishment, estate office and chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) as respondents. According to the petition, the estate office and the ministry of housing and works had allotted a house to Mr Jatt despite the fact that the said government accommodation was already allotted to Dr Awan, a senior PAS officer.
The petitioner claimed that the appointment of Mr Jatt as well as other judicial officers in the subordinate judiciary of Islamabad is under the judicial scrutiny before Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui but despite the fact estate office allotted different government accommodation to most of the judicial officers. The petitioner requested the court to cancel the allotment and issued directives to the estate office and the ministry of housing and works to hand over possession of the said house to Dr Awan.
