The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday rued the absence of a report by the industries secretary about the government action to control the prices of edibles. When the court resumed hearing a case, neither the secretary nor any representative from the department was present in the court room. The court said during the previous hearing Industries Secretary Naseem Sadiq promised to give his report about the government's measures to control the profiteering in all 36 districts. The court then ordered the law officer to ensure the report would be available on Friday (today).
