MQM refuses to 'recognise' Chaman suspects

19 Jun, 2015

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has denied any 'connection' whatsoever with the two Dr Imran Farooq murder case suspects picked up in the border town of Chaman here on Thursday. "The MQM has got nothing to with Mohsin Ali Syed and Khalid Shamim. We don't know who they are? This duo has never been a part of the party ...ever," the MQM Co-ordination Committee said.
According to a Frontier Corps spokesman, both the accused were trying to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan without immigration documents, which is an infringement to the laws of the land. The suspects were later handed over to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for interrogation. The MQM said that authorities had been claiming that these were in their custody for the last four years. "Their arrest been staged today that too in Chaman. The whole thing reeks of a conspiracy," the statement added.
