Aims to portray historically rich, healthy and positive image of Liyari's culture, folk, literature, games and history through fine arts and media education, Co-ordinator to Chief Minister Sindh for Human Rights, Nadya Gabol inaugurated first of its kind in the area "The Lyari Films & Photography School".
The school was established by some art lover students of Lyari on their own resources in order to counter violence related image of Lyari and to depict positive picture of talent that the youth possess. Ms Nadya Gabol was given multi media briefing and got visited the different sections of the school including library. Short documentaries, dramatised on current situation of Lyari were also played which were appreciated by the participants.
While speaking to the gathering Ms Nadya Gabol regretted that the word "Lyari" has almost every time been found written and mentioned in headlines of crime related stories of daily newspapers and media channels since few years just because of some criminal gangs.
Such practice is painting a dismal picture of Liyari to the public that Lyari has become a nursery of every crime but this is not a complete truth, there are also many positive topics to be discussed about Lyari such as its culture, history, folk, games, literature and so on, she added.
