The incidence of different kinds of crimes has witnessed a sharp increase in the city despite tall claims of strict security arrangements made by police, as the various city police stations have registered 10 cases of robberies and six cases of auto theft during last week.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, the city police registered 17 cases of dishonouring of cheques, four cases of murder and one case of kidnapping the last week. Like past, according to the crime statistics the most favourite areas for robbers and auto theft were Margalla, Koshar, Sabzi Mandi and Shalimar police stations. During last week Margalla police station registered eight cases of different crimes, of which four cases are of Cheque dishonouring, three of auto theft and one case of robbery.
Auto thieves have stolen a bike (RIN-1141) of Azhar Khan of worth Rs 50,000, lifted another bike (GR-002) of Adnan Bashir of Rs 50,000 and a bike (ABQ-928) of Muhammad Aamir Haroon worth Rs 80,000. Muhmmad Sulaiman lodged a complaint with Margalla police station that unknown robbers have stolen seven laptops, mobile phone and cash worth Rs 300,000 from his house. Aabpara police registered three cases of cheque dishonouring and one case each of kidnapping and robbery.
Samina Ahmad informed Aabpara police station that Shaukat Anwar and Muhammad Rashid abducted her son Usama Amer 17 years of age. During another incident unknown robbers took away valuables of Rs 650,000 from the shop of Shaukat Jamil located in Aabapra Market. Lohi Bheer registered four cases of robbery during the last week. Unknown robbers have stolen foreign currency, cash and mobile phone of worth Rs 500,000 from the house of Muhammad Aslam. Muhmmad Solat Sahgal informed Lohi Bheer police station that unknown robbers have stolen gold ornament, cash, mobile phone and watches amounting to Rs 600,000.
Similarly, Nadeem Rashid lodged a complaint with Lohi Bheer police station that unknown robbers have stolen gold ornaments, cash and mobile phone, laptops and Ashiq Hussain Shah lodged a complaint with the same police station that four armed persons broke into his house and snatched gold ornament and other valuables worth Rs 250,000. Kohsar police registered four cases of cheque dishonouring during the last week.
Shalimar police registered one case each of robbery, auto theft and cheque dishonouring during the last week. Two armed persons ridding a bike broke in to the shop of Muhammad Afzal at sector F-10 Markaz and snatched Rs 12,750 at gunpoint. Auto thieves have stolen a Honda city car (RIA-2916) of Muhammad Hussain Hakeem worth Rs 900,000. During the last week Sabzi Mandi registered two cases of murder and one case of cheques dishonoring.
Ghulam Murtaza lodged a complaint with Sabzi Mandi police station that Yaqoob and Inayat Rehman killed his relative Basharat Afazal. During another incident Syed Chashti killed his wife and daughter and then shot himself dead. Tarnol police registered two cases of cheque dishonouring while Koral police registered one case each of fake cheque and robbery. Secretariat, Golra, Kana police registered one case each of auto theft while Noon and Ramana one case each of robbery during the last week.
